Master Of Science In Economics

Graduate Program in Economics (PPIE) of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Indonesia, held a Master’s Program in the field of Economics, based on the operating permit of the Director-General of Higher Education Decree No. 577/DIKTI/Kep/1993 concerning the Ratification of the Implementation of Masters and Doctoral Study Programs at the Universitas Indonesia. This Master’s Program in Economics has managed to maintain an A accreditation status from The Institute of Accreditation for Economics, Management, Business, and Accounting Programs, known as LAMEMBA, which is valid until December, 2027.

Graduate Profile

The Master of Economics program aims to produce graduates who can choose economic theory, the latest empirical methods, and use science and technology-based technology to evaluate social and economic problems scientifically through an inter or multidisciplinary approach and manage economics research so that they can produce innovative scientific works. Conclusion and tested and able to be competitive in research in the economic field by taking into account aspects of global change, ethics, and social responsibility so that it is beneficial to society and science and can gain national and international recognition.

Duration of Study

The implementation of the study program follows the UI Rector’s Regulation Number 2 of 2024. The Master of Economics Study Program curriculum has a study load of 56 credits, consisting of 47 lectures and 9 credits of research designed for four semesters full-time. The maximum study period is six semesters.

Program

Regular Program 

The Regular program is a master’s program where all coursework is taken at Universitas Indonesia. Students are required to complete 56 credit hours spread over 4 semesters. Graduates will receive a Magister Sains Ekonomi (M.S.E.).

Double Degree Program

Students at the Double Degree Master program will be conferred two master degrees provided that they statisfy all entry requirements and complete the courses both at Graduate Program in Economics FEB UI and the foreign partner university.

The Double Degree Master program helps students graduate in less time than it would to complete two degrees sequentially. The scheme lasts 2 years or 4 semesters. In the first year, the students are required to complete 32 SKS credits at the Graduate Program in Economics Universitas Indonesia. Provided that they are eligible for an admission to one of our foreign partner universities, the students will spend the second year abroad. Two master degrees will be conferred independently of each other based on the completion and results of the courses taken in both universities.
